The repetitive, low-stress, and "no brainer" act of color lends itself to relaxation. The calming effects not only helps to reduce stress levels, but also can help to bring you back to your youth. The awesome part is that anyone can do it will no skill set required! Grab a crayon and you are good to go. You can make it even more enjoyable and have your kids or grandkids color with you. Depending on the age of the young ones they may be interested in the adult coloring books, others still wanting to color a cow, astronaut, or pretty flower arrangement.
So why the fascination, and how can they help you? In the most basic sense, the act of applying colored media to intricate line drawings is a benefit to relaxation and stress reduction. You are able to put the outside world aside for the moment and focus on the art of coloring singularly. Studies have shows that anxiety levels dropped in adults that colored. They did note that simple doodling had no affect on anxiety. The focus on coloring and switching off the brain allows that blocking of anxiety in the moment. When I was a child I just loved to draw and paint but, as I remember, before I even could begin to draw accurately I used to color in. The next stage was to learn to draw using stencils and then I graduated to be able to draw freehand which provided me with an absolutely fantastic sense of achievement. I went on to love drawing but the point I am trying to make is that it all started with the simple yet effective art of coloring in!
Coloring in is one of the main starting points of creativity in children. Being able to expressed ones self with a piece of paper and colored pencils or crayons is a great thing to be able to do and remember, it leads onto being able to learn other brand new skills. Quick tip! If your child has difficulty holding a colored pencil then try them with crayons first. Crayons are easier to hold because they are larger and softer. But as your childs skills and abilities progress they will prefer the greater accuracy of using colored pencils.
There is one universal rule when coloring in a coloring book that we all learn in kindergarten. That rule is that we should all try to color with in the lines, we can color with whatever colors we want but we need to try to stay with-in the lines. This article will share a solution to a very common Team Performance Problem; its not unusual to find teams not working together. They sometimes seem to work in small groups or alone and can often be found working against each other.
Determine your childs level when it comes to coloring. Some color books provide large coloring spaces making it easier for children to color the page, stay in the lines, etc. As the child gets older, their skill level for coloring increases as well, and the difficulty of the book may as well. Some coloring books come with written instructions, and other games, such as a dot to dot, or a maze. If you want to keep your child happy, and still challenge them, choose coloring or activity books in their range or level, and do not frustrate them with books that have too small of pictures, or too many spaces to color, or written instructions.
