Coloring is a great way to bond. Ask your friends over for some wine, cheese and coloring. Perhaps at first they might look at you with skeptical eyes and doubt; but hand over a fresh sheet of paper, some vibrant or glitter colored pens and in just minutes you will not be able to pry those colors out of their fingers. You will begin to feel like you have time-traveled back into grade 2 and you do not really want to leave. Coloring is freeing and has no expectations. The beautiful thing about this craft is that there is no pressure to finish, to use a certain color or even to stay in the lines!!! There is absolute freedom involved in those precious hours where you just get to color.

Available with crayons: Most of the books come with crayons; this means that you dont have to buy them separately. If you dont know how to use wax crayons, by buying such a thing, you can always learn something new in life and relieve all the tensions that you have in your mind. You can design and color whatever you want to: While some of the books have limited designs, there are others that let you design something on your own as well. If you are more of a creative and artistic person, you might want a book that lets you be independent enough, in terms of designs.

I was 20 years old when my love affair with coloring was re-ignited. Armed with a box of pencil crayons and not really expecting my interest to last long, I fastened my seat belt as the plane began its take-off. Thinking full well that the coloring would only last a few minutes before I was lured into the mega-selection of in-flight movies, I was curiously surprised when 30 minutes passed...then an hour...and then 2 hours and I had not even checkout out the movie selection! I had finished my first page in my brand new coloring book and still had 12 hours of flying time left. The rest of the flight passed quickly and gloriously. My love for coloring has only deepened, and here are the reasons why.

Coloring in a Coloring Book. You can buy a coloring book in any grocery store just look in the childrens department. Some coloring books incorporate puzzles and other activities. Buy a box of crayons with lots of colors as you can really express yourself. The stress reducing part of this plan is that you choose a picture or activity that feels good to you, something you can focus your mind on. This focusing will redirect your thoughts to less stressed thoughts. The colors you choose do not have to be appropriate to the theme of the picture if you so desire. The idea here is to feel creative, to slow down and release your feelings in your coloring activity.

When you sit with your child and see him coloring on a book, you feel completely relaxed. Colors are all that you need to relieve your anxiety, depression and even stress. There is a sudden change in the mood of an individual, when he exposes himself to different shades of different colors. One look at red, purple and green shades and you are emotionally out of all the problems in your life.
